今週のお題「お父さん」
皆さんこんにちは。
今週のテーマである父親に伝えたいこと、でありますが、私がまず伝えたいと思ったのは、「父親って大変なんだな」という思いです。
子供のころは全くイメージすることができませんでしたが、こうして自分も子供を持つような年齢になるにつれ、その責任や義務を深く考えるようになりました。
父親とは？
別記事でも書いていますが、父親の役割は時代やその社会によって大きく左右されます。時には政治目的だったりすることも……
ですが、息子にとって私が父親であることはどの時代、どの社会でもかわりのないことなのです。敵を知り、己を知れば……という言葉にある通り、父親というパーソナリティは、もはや自分にとっては切っても切れない要素となりつつあるのです。
父親の役割って？
従来の社会では父親の役割は「稼ぎ」の面で語られることが多かったように感じます。しかし蓋を開けてみると父親の存在は子供の精神的発達にとても重要な要素となっていることが近年の研究ではっきりしてきています。
父親の刺激
母親の脳に対する刺激はほとんどソフトなものです。イメージつくかと思いますが、究極を言えば子供は母親が絶対的に好きになります。（傾向的に）
一方父親の刺激は遊びなどの方面に秀でており、母親の刺激とはまた違った面があり、それが結果的に子供の精神的発達に役立っているというわけです。
不思議なものですが、我々が生物として生きている期間のほうが、近代を生きる期間よりも長いものですから、基本的な脳の発達の仕方は父親と母親で明確に分かれている可能性が十分にあります。
まとめ
父親だから……とかいうとお父さん方にとってはストレスになると思いますが、子供にとっては父親は一人しかいません。学術的に与える影響の有無がはっきりしていることからも、父親であることから逃げると、その影響は子供にも確実に及ぶといっても良いでしょう。（あくまで研究結果等によるものですが……）
